Open for business

Exciting news, Thornton Community Centre is open for business. The trustees have ensured that Covid19 regulations and guidelines have been followed to make the hall as safe and secure as possible.

See the Community Centre page listed under ‘Community’ for more information on terms and conditions of booking, capacity, hire charges, risk assessment etc.

In the Main Hall, the morning, weekday, term time, sessions of the Playschool re started in September, quickly followed by the Wednesday afternoon Art classes. The rest of the week the main hall is available for new bookings.

But we now have two exciting new ventures starting up in the Sports Hall, with one hour Zumba Gold classes at 1.00pm on a Monday, 10.00am on a Tuesday and 10.00am on a Friday; and a two hour session of Budokan Kempo Karate at 6.30pm on a Thursday.

On Thursday’s at 9.00am, MESports return with a three hour session and will be there again on Saturday’s at 10.00am with a two hour session. http://www.mesports.co.uk/

Thornton Sports Club will be restarting their two hour Monday night sessions of table tennis and badminton at 7.00pm.

Campaign to save the Reservoir Inn

After a planning application to convert the Reservoir Inn was unanimously rejected last week a group of residents have banded together to try and purchase the property as a Community Asset.
