Thornton Community Centre, a small registered Charity (No. 521506) is seeking a reliable and trustworthy Caretaker to help keep our centre secure, welcoming and ready for our community groups and hirers.
Hours
- Approximately 2 hours per week on average, with hours varying according to centre bookings.
- The role primarily involves opening and closing the centre, usually at weekends and in the evenings (up to 11.00 pm).
- Rate of pay: Negotiable.
Main responsibilities
- Opening and securing the Community Centre for hirers.
- Carrying out light housekeeping duties to ensure the building is clean, tidy and ready for the next users.
- Watering and maintaining the planters at the front of the centre.
- Reporting any maintenance or security issues to the Trustees.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.
- Be reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
- Be confident working independently.
- Be willing to follow the policies, procedures and directions of the Community Centre Trustees.
- Take pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for all centre users.
This role would suit someone local who is practical, organised and community-minded.
