Would you like to help with….
Supporting a small group of adults with learning disabilities with their contract gardening enterprise.
You will be responsible for the following:
Driving a truck and trailer
- Supporting a small group of adults with learning disabilities to safely carry out basic garden and maintenance tasks in a variety of gardens within the community.
- Safely loading the truck with the machinery and tools required (Lawnmower etc)
- Ensuring safety while using all machinery or tools involved.
- Ensuring those involved are carrying out tasks to suit abilities.
- Being a positive representative for WHM within the community.
- Time keeping- to ensure the group sets off on time, carries out work efficiently, breaks are planned, and that the group returns to main site on time.
- Completion of relevant risk assessments and ensuring they are kept up to date.
- Organising the ‘Helping Hands’ diary with future bookings/ cancelations with help from the CECIC enterprise coordinator.
- Organising payments and money handling.
Requirements
- Driving license, with approved use of trailer attached to vehicle.
- Competent use of gardening machinery and tools- Lawn Mower, Strimmer etc
- First Aid Training
- Health and Safety Training
- Good time keeping, organisation and planning skills.
