Ceilidh – Thornton Community Centre

On Saturday 11th March, by popular demand, the folk group Govannen returned to Thornton Community centre for a night of folk music and lively dancing.

The hall was packed with guests eager to let their hair down and have a good time, their tables bulging with food and drink.

The event was a sell-out with a waiting list.

After expenses, ticket sales and a raffle brought in a profit of £359 which has been donated to the Friends of St Peter’s towards the upkeep of the church and churchyard.

Look out for the next fund-raising events at the Community Centre on our website www.thorntonvillage.org.   If you would like to be involved in fund-raising in the village, please contact us on email thorntonvillage@aol.com. We really do need more help.
