Limited edition prints – Thornton Reservoir

A village in Leicestershire and in the heart of the National Forest, overlooking Thornton Reservoir.

You can now purchase freshly cooked samosas every day at the corner shop.
Raj or family member will be cooking about 20 samosas per day – so don’t miss out.
I had to sample the goods before advertising and trust me they are absolutely delicious.
Why not treat yourself to a freshly made cob with a samosa on the side.

The much anticipated next performance by the Markfield and Thornton theatre group – Holiday Snap – commences on Tuesday 24th September for a 4 night run.
Tickets still available – £8
The group are asking for volunteers to help them build the set on stage at Thornton Community Centre. This will take place over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 14th & 15th September from 8am.
Do you have skills with a hammer and nails and a few hours to spare that weekend and perhaps for future performances?
Then please contact Andy Dobrowolski on 01530 469714 or if it’s easier email – MTTG.Theatre@gmail.com
MTTG is a small friendly group who would make you most welcome whether you would like to join them backstage or indeed on the stage. They normally meet for a couple of hours at the Community Centre on a Wednesday evening.

J22 Benefice walk starting at LE67 1AA
14th September 2024
The Benefice Walk this year is now cancelled. We are really sorry about this.
Hopefully it will be reinstated next year.
Thanks.
Shirley
It is with a deep sadness that Thornton mourns the loss of Dave Smith over the weekend, after a short illness.
Dave joined his Dad John at the nursery in 1976 and was a member of Thornton’s very own Punk rock band, ‘Punk & Disorderly’.
A true stalwart of the village, Dave will be greatly missed by all.
