Thank you to everyone who attended the latest village quiz at the Community Centre last Saturday night.
Although the numbers were a little lower than usual because of the half term holidays, a fun night was had by all and a total of £330 was raised.
£80 was donated to the Community Centre towards the ongoing programme of major works in progress, and £250 was donated to the Friends of St Peter’s towards the upkeep and maintenance of the church.
A new winning team this time with a group of 4 local residents scoring a magnificent 99 out of 100 questions.
There will be another quiz night hopefully early in the new year.

Good morning on this very soggy day
Despite today’s weather, tomorrow looks dry so there will be a working party from 10 until 12 noon.
I am sorry for the short notice.
There are many things to do – we haven’t met very many times this year.
Jobs include:
Finding the newly planted trees!
Collecting up fallen branches,
Clearing growth from beside church walls
Weeding the newly planted hedging
Clearly saplings
Tidying graves in the old church yard
There are many more.
If you are able to come even for a short time you would be very welcome.
Please bring a drink and any tools you would like to use. And do please wear stout shoes and gardening gloves.
Please do let others know they are welcome to join us.
Thanks.
Hope to see you.
Love
Shirley G
A provider is available to all eligible residents of Leicestershire, (not city or Rutland).
The idea is to help vulnerable people living in rural villages access their vaccination offer conveniently.
All they have to do is call the provider – 01530 512456 – the number is operational Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm – and the provider will proactively check the person’s eligibility, book them into a clinic and will arrange to pick them up from their home, transport them to the clinic / wait for them / run them home.
All at no cost to the individual.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 11th October 2 to 4 pm
